In order to build up the tendency of savings by students as well as engage students in the banking services, NBL always encourage opening of School Banking Accounts. The applicable rate of interest on School Banking Deposits will be 2.50% p.a. with effect from February 01, 2022.

To increase the savings tendency among the students
Any student of Bangladeshi Citizen of 6 (six) years to below 18(eighteen) years can open the account.
No. The account will be in the name of the student, but it will be operated by the legal guardian of the student.
The guardian will receive SMS transaction alert to his/her mobile number.
Rate of interest of the account is 1% higher than the savings rate.
Interest will be calculated on daily basis and will be credited on monthly basis.
There is no account maintenance fee, no service charge, no minimum balance fee. Only government fee is to be charged.
Yes. All kinds of scholarship/stipend of the student can be deposited through school banking account. In this regards scholarship /stipend provider Government/ Semi-Government/ Autonomous/ Private institute have to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the concerned bank.
When the principal account holder attains the age of 18 the student account will be converted into savings customer account with his/her consent and then will be continued. In this regard related rules and regulation of NBL Savings Deposit account will be applicable as usual.
